Daily Math Skills

Students in grades K-8 are now receiving the critically acclaimed Daily Math Skills curriculum available through Beyond Textbooks.  Teachers implement daily 20 minute math fact lessons to improve math fluency (speed + accuracy) so that students are able to perform computational tasks as well as higher level skills while not getting bogged down on the "ABC's of math."  Implementing Daily Math Skills in other school districts has historically demonstrated immediate gains on math AIMS scores, specifically the number of students who exceed the standard.
Bonfire
There will be a bonfire for the community's enjoyment on Saturday, September 27 starting around 7:00 p.m. near the field.  This is not a school-sponsored event, and parental supervision of minors is encouraged.
Archery Program

The new Archery Program at Grand Canyon School will begin for interested students in grades 4-12 on Wednesday, September 24 at 4:00 p.m. in the Bus Barn.  Students must have a parental permission form on file.  Transportation home will be provided for students who take the same route as the late activities bus.  Practices are anticipated to be every Wednesday throughout the regular school year, though changes will be announced via intercom in the morning.  Permission forms are available outside the counseling office, and must be completed by parents/guardians and brought to the first practice session.
